Send me your worse shopping excesses

keep-calm-shopper-bagThis came in from David.  Its an offer you can refuse from a shopping website called Not On the Hight Street. I would say its priceless but it isn’t.  There maybe many wars going on, the environment, Afghanistan etc, but as long as we keep shopping for stuff like this it will all be okay.

Do send me pictures or links to anything you find.  You can get me at:  info@allconsuming.org.uk.  Thanks

But a great piece of advertising isn’t it? It manages to be ironic and promote shopping at the same time.

Much like the Lynx ads. Did you see that a guy in India is suing Unilever because despite using Lynx for the last decade, he has never got laid?

I will be interested to see what the Lynx defence is going to be. Probably “don’t be absurd – it’s all a joke”. But then if it doesn’t give you sex appeal, what is the point of it? See? It manages to be self-consciously ironic and sell its sex-appeal premise all at the same time. Brilliant!

I recently wrote a review of your book for my blog. Here’s the link in case it’s of any interest…
