And I'd imagine the point of Guitar Hero is that it's an easy and enjoyable way to waste your time, whereas actually learning to play the guitar takes some effort. I'd have difficulty entering the competition because I'm not sure that I agree with starting point that uselessness is necessarily a bad thing in a consumer product. Surely several of these – such as The Sat Nag – are novelty items that are meant to be useless.

And I’d imagine the point of Guitar Hero is that it’s an easy and enjoyable way to waste your time, whereas actually learning to play the guitar takes some effort.

I’d have difficulty entering the competition because I’m not sure that I agree with starting point that uselessness is necessarily a bad thing in a consumer product.
